IPL 2024 Orange Cap: Following the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) vs. Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) game on March 30, former RCB captain Virat Kohli has risen to the top of the list of Orange cap holders in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL). The Orange Cap was won by Kohli in 2016, and the former captain hopes to do it again this year.
One of the most coveted trophies in the IPL competition is the orange hat, which is given to the player who scores the most runs throughout the season. Virat Kohli of RCB defeated Heinrich Klaasen of Sunrisers Hyderabad to take the top place, moving up from third. With a 141 strike rate and an average of 90, Kohli has presently amassed 181 runs. After finishing the innings with a brilliant 83* in only 59 deliveries, which included four boundaries and four sixes, Kohli batted out the innings.

Klaasen, who is ranked number two, has scored 143 runs at an average of 143 and a strike rate of 226 since taking the top slot.
After hitting an incredible 84 not out off 45 balls in the RR vs. DC game, Rajasthan Royals’ Riyan Parag, who had previously been ranked number one on the list, is now at number three. At a strike rate of 171 and an average of 127, Parag has already scored 127 runs.
Sanju Samson, the captain of the Rajasthan Royals, is ranked number four with 97 runs with a strike rate of 146 and an average of 97.
Abhishek Sharma of Sunrisers Hyderabad, who has amassed 95 runs with a strike rate of 226 and an average of 47 in the first two games, is holding down fifth place. Tilak Varma of the Mumbai Indians is ranked sixth and has amassed 89 runs with a strike rate of 167 and an average of 44 in the two games he has played thus far.

RCB’s Dinesh Karthik has made an appearance on the orange cap contenders list. He has amassed 86 runs at an average of 86 and a strike rate of 195. Karthik, who is now ranked seventh, knocks Sam Curran of Punjab Kings (PBKS) to eighth spot. With 86 runs at a strike rate of 134 and an average of 43 through two matches, the English batsman has been instrumental in helping Punjab Kings keep up the run flow during the middle over.
Shivam Dube of the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) is still ranked ninth. With an average of 85 and a strike rate of 166, Dube has amassed 85 runs in just two games. After yesterday’s game, Phil Salt of KKR has made an appearance on the IPL run scorers list, where he is now at number 10 with an average of 42, a strike rate of 140, and 84 runs scored.
