Manon Fiorot defeats Erin Blanchfield to go to 7-0 in the UFC.

Although Manon Fiorot isn’t expected to contend for the flyweight belt in the UFC, she is highly capable.
With a commanding performance against Erin Blanchfield in the main event of UFC Fight Night in Atlantic City, New Jersey, on Saturday, Fiorot (12-1) cemented her place as the next top contender. Fiorot, of Nice, France, stopped Blanchfield’s attempts to subdue her and scored unanimously among the judges with cleaner strikes. For the first time since 2018, the main event of the UFC in Atlantic City included a women’s 125-pound division.
Increased to 7-0 in the UFC, Fiorot, 34, will very definitely take on the victor of Valentina Shevchenko vs Alexa Grasso, the Mexican champion, later this year in a title trilogy.

Fighting out of New York, Blanchfield (12-2) put on a brave face throughout the five-round main event, but she was just outmatched by the larger, more skilled striker.
The match was significantly different because of Fiorot’s physicality, as Blanchfield found it difficult to manage the situation near the fence or get the fight to the ground.
Although Blanchfield’s biggest skill is her grappling, the 24-year-old appeared to realize Fiorot would be hard to take down and put her to the test on the feet.

Fiorot outlanded Blanchfield in total strikes, 164 to 142, according to UFC Stats. It’s not a huge difference in overall strikes, but Fiorot definitely landed the heavier strikes, mostly with her counter right hand. In the third round, she caused a gash above Blanchfield’s right eye, and in the fourth, she shocked her with another right hand.
During his winning streak, Fiorot has defeated Jennifer Maia, Rose Namajunas, Katlyn Cerminara, and Blanchfield.
